Gig Buddies gives adults with learning disabilities and those on the autistic spectrum the opportunity to stay out late in the evenings to enjoy live music.

We match people based on shared music tastes, locations and personalities.

Meet some of our Gig Buddies

Beth and Karen

Karen found out about being a Gig Buddy volunteer when she saw one of our posters at 2000 Trees Festival.

After completing her training, she was matched with Beth, another music fan. They quickly met up to plan their first gig together, and the rest is history!

Beth says "I love having a Gig Buddy...it's great going out in the evenings with her and seeing live music and tribute acts. Before I had a Gig Buddy I could only do this with my parents, so now I feel more independent."

Steve and Charlotte

After Steve saw one of our posters at Intersound guitar shop, he enquired about volunteering with Gig Buddies.

We paired Steve with Charlotte as they both enjoy classical music and going to the cinema.

"I have enjoyed two outings with my Gig Buddy Steve and much enjoyed the companionship. We have been to see Napoleon and One Life at the movies, and after One Life we went for an amazing burger and Steve kindly drove me home as it was getting late.

I am proud to have Steve as a Gig Buddy and I look forward to going to more events together."
